The school Susie Crocker attended until age 14, South Carver School District. Susie, born 1883, was given permission to leave school at 11:45 AM to run home, pick up a bucket of warm food, and run across another field to Ellis Foundry, where her papa worked. He always took the food in his freshly washed hands, smiled, kissed her, and thanked his little "Toots." This routine continued until the foundry closed.
